Classes
Hypertufa is an artificial medium with properties similar to the
tufa rock from which old stone sinks and animal troughs in
England were carved. It is lighter than regular concrete, water
permeable, and weather resistant. It ages beautifully with a look
of old rock. Different ingredients create unique textures that can
be molded or sculpted.
Hypertufa - the Basics and Beyond Class
Using simple recipes, you'll learn proper consistency and the
basics of hand building, mold useage, and adding other materials.
You'll learn how different ingredients create unique textures that
can be molded or sculpted. Each student builds their own
Hypertufa planter, birdbath, or stepping-stone. The only limitation
is lack of imagination - and we've got "plenty" to share. We'll also
look at textures, techniques, and using armatures. The most
popular part? Leaf Casting!
Mosaics
Been saving old dishes? Got a bunch of junk jewelry in a drawer?
Here's a chance to learn fun, easy ways to mosaic them for
wonderful garden art or home accessories. Projects vary.
Special classes (Mosaics or Hypertufa) are available for groups.
Private instruction on advanced projects is scheduled by
appointment, only. Contact the Queen for more information.
