I have been hooked on mosaics since I took a class by Judy Ornifrio at the Arkansas Arts Center over 16 years ago. I break anything and glue it to just about any object. Old rocking horses, plastic penguins, ceramic animals, old tables, buckets, wood, lamps .... just to name a few.
When I discovered hypertufa, it was an eye-opener. I could make something with hypertufa then mosaic it!
In 2005, I took another class from Sherry Warner Hunter (nationally renown mosaic artist) at her studio in Bell Buckle, TN. It changed my life. Per her teachings, I now create polystyrene forms, coated with fortified concrete reinforcement. This is my base for mosaics or hypertufa finishes. The possibilities are endless.
My work is featured at the President Clinton Museum Store, at the Clinton Presidential Library, utilizing broken Presidential souvenirs.
I've taught mosaic classes at Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs, AR, the Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock and even in my backyard, since 2005. Click here for more information on classes currently being offered.
I'm also proud to say I have done several commercial installations over the last few years. If you are interested in green art that is totally customized to your setting, let's talk!
